Welcome to my catacomb of tunes! This is where I hold all the information on my growing collection of records. It is continuously growing, so there will always be updates with new LPs added to the catalogue.
I had a few records through 2017-18, my very first record to my best memory being Herb Alpert Presents Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66 that I gleefully found at Goodwill in 2017. I very occasionally spun records on my first turn table, a Black & Red Crosley CR8005A-BK Cruiser (yes, I'm just as embarassed for myself as you are) that I got for Christmas in 2017. I knew I had taken an L when I played Hesitation Marks on it and it sounded hideous.
ANYWAYS! I was actually more into scouting for CD's during that time, which is something I no longer have any interest in. When Goodwill reopened earlier in June, I bought a few records I liked and since then I've developed a renowned love for the format and it's now one of my favorite forms of listening to music. My main interest lies in 80's releases, specifically anything 80's pop/punk/rock. I bought myself my second and current turn table, a Sony PS-LX2 Direct Drive with a Shure EJ10 Cartridge from eBay, originally manufactured in 1981, and I can finally feel at peace knowing I own a proper quality TT. It's quite basic and I'm sure there's far superior turn tables, but this one spins just nicely and does everything it should do.
The front logo is missing. Everything else from the belt to the cartridge is intact.
For the rest of the specs, I quite literally thrifted both my receiver and speaker (singular). The receiver is an Optimus STA-20 AM/FM Stereo Receiver from Value Village, which is very small compared to most other receivers in setups. Thankfully this one already has phono built in, making that one less compenent I had to chase after. I like it. I'm not huge when it comes to specific specs in these kinds of things, plus any of the other regular sized receivers would have been a nightmare to carry home. My speaker is an LG SH86SH-C Surround Sound Speaker from Goodwill. Once I have more space I can work with in my unit, I'll be sure to upgrade to better speakers.
I'm constantly on the lookout for LP's too. I have a discogs profile, where all the information stored here coincides with everything over there. If you're interested in any of these records, discogs also has a marketplace. I personally keep my eyes peeled around eBay and my local thrift stores, so I don't have personal experience with buying from discogs sellers yet.
Oh yeah, and I've got some cassette tapes as well.
ON THE HUNT FOR:
Washboard Rhythm Kings (any album), Soft Cell (Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go)
Animotion (Animotion), Echo & The Bunnymen (Ocean Rain), Talking Heads (Remain in Light)
The Prodigy (The Fat of the Land; The Day is My Enemy), Bathory (Bathory)
September (Zadnja Adventura), Broken Glass (Style of the Street)
My second 45 RPM record, and the first to require an adapter. I have a tendency to learn on the go as opposed to maybe doing the prior research needed. Thankfully my record shop has them for 25 cents each.

One of the four albums that I bought when my Goodwill reopened post-COVID. It almost feels like a big joke, which is why I feel compelled to label it as *my trash*. Pretty sure Pete Burns was serious the entire time though. That's okay.

I don't have a lot to put here, so I think I need to take a moment to express my immense thirst for Donovan in the 60's. He wasn't a snack; he was the entire picnic. I'm gonna go eat some weird looking mushrooms now.

One of my favorite 80's hits period. Might as well have it on record!
JOHN DENVER
My man John Denver... John Denver got me into American folk and it makes me want to live some kind of weird hippy environmentalist lifestyle in the mountains. I'm already halfway there anyways.

Version: 9 20733-0
D/RPM: 12", 33 1⁄3
Acquired: July 2020, Goodwill
Condition: Very Good
I... have two copies of this record. I don't know why. Don't ask me why. I'm currently looking for a good frame to display one of them, mainly because True Faith is one of my favorite New Order songs and means a lot to me on a more personal level, so why not have one chilling comfortably on the wall? Anyways, along with two mixes of True Faith it features 1963, another favorite that has always creeped me out, even without the backstory.
